Okay, I am new to the trap scene. I don't want to hi jack the thread but , what is base plating with center swivel? Could someone post a pic or post a link as to what this is, please. I have two #2 bridgers that I may want to try this with. Thanks

That's a great set of pics login. Very clear on what is what. Would be a good one to put on a place for newbies like me for future ref. I had the same questions when I came into the foruum.

Take it for what its worth (I'm new to trapping also) but if you're wanting a smaller but stout trap I have seen a lot of more experienced people comment on the new Bridger 1.75's. Already beefed up with exception of laminations and same price as 1.65 I believe. They seem to get approval from respected people on here. They are not in the new catalog though. you can see them at MTP website. just another option. If you look you can find several threads on here where people have commented on them.

I was given that same advice and have a half dozen saved in my wish list on Minnesota trapping products inc. web pages. Look good. Aside from laminated jaws as cotton6210 noted, they have everything else. Should be good for fox to yote according to allot of the top dogs on the forum.

The price on the Bridger 1.75 you can not beat with all that it comes stock with. I catch all my coyotes and bobcat either in a 1.5 or a 1.75 coil spring. If you are gonna buy that size of trap, the Bridger 1.75 would be the one to get.

you dont have to laminate your traps to catch and hold yotes if you check early in the morning lamination is to increase blood flow to keep the paw from going numb so they dont chew.the 175 are awesome but they arent good for beaver.

what i mean is if you have beaver better get # 3 bridger for coyote beaver cat coon whatever, baseplate three swivel then offof the last swivel i would put one link of chain to atatch disposable stake for land, and when watter trapping a s hook through that single chain link can be used to attatch 10 foot more chain to drowned a beaver or otter.
