I acquired these lures when I bought out a supply of traps. Look at these lures and please tell me of any good or bad luck you have had with these. If I like a certain one then I could buy more. I like to smell them. It helps me with my own lure making. Attachments:

The Dobbins "Backbreaker" and Cavins "Violator7" are good stuff. Don't have experince with most of the rest. The "Cat-Man-Do didn't work for me.

I have met Ray and think he is a trapping icon BUT you are about the third person that has told me the old cat-man-do sucks. I dont think it reachs out much.

Ray is as good a trapper as ever bedded steel. That stuff may do a good job in a different area. I tried it for a couple of seasons in different sets, just didn't perform as well as others.

Used Dobbin's Purrfect with good sucess on cats. The Hawbaker's a good lure too.The second from the right onthe back row looks like Fox All Call by Asa Lenon.

I was one of them. That told you. I'll betcha it works somewhere else. Don't care much for Mr. Dobbins, but the Purrrfect works. Of course it does.
The fox All Call and Violator 7 are the real deal for MO critters. In my opinion. Which is what you asked for.
Right?

Yup....Them guys on Tman all swear about backbreaker and how they are saving their money to buy more back breaker but I think they are all sucking up to Dobbins. Should I say sucking up or "patronizing"? I dunno.....next step is the game camera. I will write the name on a card and put some on the card and set it out there. That way the photo is its own record.

krank, backbreaker is the real deal. The recipe was Paul's dads,Charley"s.It's also a good lure for cat's and K-9s on post sets. That said though,I don't feel it works any better than my own beaver castor lure.
resoman.have you ever had luck with the Hawbakers Wildcat #2?I have used it off and on and never caught a cat on it.It seems the catnip in it has no effect on cats around here.Matter of fact,I haven't had any lure with catnip do very good around here.Seems like the cats almost always avoid it for me.

A couple of Dobbins lures (IMO) are good. Backbreaker is NOT the beaver lure that Cavins TIMBER is, I use Backbreaker as a change up. Truth is I could probably do as well with something else castor based. Paul is NO Charlie and it shows.

I absolutely used to hinge on each word of Charles D's writing. There was some genius there but really just common sense. He was gifted with the ability to observe. In his stories he would give out basic observations and reveal later how the common things he saw were trying to tell him something. Backbreaker is good and yes, it is basically castor. I remember Hawbaker from way back.

Krank I never try any of them but herd the backbreaker is real thing .Most of the time I buy cronk or night owl lure but not very often.I am not much on bobcat it seem to me they like my fox bait that had rabbit meat mix with beaver castor and lard or fish oil mix with rabbit urine and some fox gland in it that is my favor lure all I have to do sqwirt it in the dirt holes.

We are on the same page.....that castor seems to go with anything to enhance.

I dunno....a feline thing? ....I never caught a cat on nip. Best lure I ever used was a cottontail recording and the best trap I ever used was a 22 mag (got doubles)
