I used #9 wire for the jaw lam and stock panel rod for the baseplate. I allow bubble tipped the jaws but I dont think you need that with the chew guards. Mine we modded with yote in mind. Really for coon, I use victor off sets and never had anything close to a chew out. nice job.

how do you go about bending those nails for the baseplates? I use a flat piece of metal with two bolts welded to it and a hollow shaft nut driver... Use the same thing to bend the nails for nail swivels.

Oh man that looks nice. Tell ya the truth, I like the square jaws and pans vs. the round ones for some reason... Nails are cheaper then buy a 4 to 6 foot stick of round steel...

I use stock panel. Farmers bend them up and throw them away. They are plated and not quite 1/4" rod. I make fur stretcher out of them too.

obviously you dont have trouble with yotes pumping your stakes out of the ground or pulling out with that short chain. i try to put about a foot or so of cable on the end of my chain.i was afraid when they got to jumping thay could pull the stake easier whit a short chain.maybe i ws wrong
