Crops really coming out, sumac and ivy turning scarlet, leaves starting to fall, and colder weather on the way. Come on fall!
Was surprised ,as dry as this years been, to see bumper crop of wild plums, persimmons, acorns, and walnuts. I guess it's nature's way of taking care of the varmints in drought conditions.
Driving through a CA this morning saw 2 different flocks of turkey. I'll get out there early tomorrow morning and see if I can locate, bust up, call back together and harvest a couple.

Had wind now for two days and it is still going on. Yeah we are in a drought but these little 1/4" rains save the plants. The little pond I dug last spring is bone dry. Never did get any rain in it. Headed down to deer camp to piddle. I have a shotgun just in case.
