I have a jar of red fox glands from last year that I wanted to make gland lure with. They had a good fox smell to them but they just started making gas and now have a almost vinegar smell to them. Is this bad?

I have a jar of ground up bobcat glands that been a jar for 2 years. The only thing I added to it was pure bobcat urine from my catches. It smell catty to me.
You don't want to seal your jar shut, you want the glands to be able to breath but yet you gotta keep the bugs and fly's out as well.

Others.. Spell check failed me. Cheesecloth keeps bugs out. Our tarbait has to be protected too. One small Bb size hole, cover entire kid in cheesecloth, good to go.
