1 gallon ground shad, 1 cup corn oil. 1 pint sodium benz. 1/2 cup honey. 2 tablespoons liquid smoke. 1 pint glycol. Have an old hand mixer I stir it all up with really good. Make thisseveral times through the summer as I get enough shad.

for jack mackerel, add liquid smoke oil and some glycerin to help smooth it all out and help preserve the fish. Also add some salt that'll help preserve it and antifreeze it too.

Going to mix up bait tomorrow night. Got the Jack Mac ready to rinse off, got the liquid smoke, and going to add a cup of honey syrup. Will stock up on mm's next week when we go to St. Joe and stop at Aldi's. Going to pick up some cheeep cat food there and will try that with some honey syrup for the first time this year. Will also try the RV anti freeze this year. Has anyone ever used that in their cat and yote bait? or On cat and yote sets?

Love jack mac. Its salty so it doesn't freeze easily. It stinks enough I can wind it far away. Works real good. Problem is that it rusts the dickens out of DPs. Also I use RV anti-freeze with no ill affects. Tom-do you mean pet food for "dry bait"......

I start with cat food.....after coating it with something.......and then coat it with a powder. ...it is dry again......no mess.....and it has worked great for me

I get this fish food that is made out of fish by products and its real fishy. Pea sized nuggets. Coat them in fish oil. I cant use dry food in my dhdps though. A spoon of jackmack or canned catfood is the ticket there. DHDPs have a small bait area. Dry food jams them. I love my coon collectors but too much feed messes them up. I can pour catfood in my dukes or daggers. Them converted coon cuff hold enough to last all season. OK...Tom...What kind of powder on the catfood? I am guessing powdered jello or sugar.

And another thing...That jack mack and tuna and canned catfood gets rotten. A sunny day and leave it in the back of the truck and it is spoiled. Converts itself to possum bait. A coon needs good taste to make him stick his paw in a second time. Another outstanding coon bait that never gets mentioned is "Sweet Feed" that they sell for horses. All kinds of yummy smell and flavor and alot of coons know what sweetfeed is.
