I would be willing to help someone in these counties. I pretty much trap for all Missouri furbearers except weasel. Be sure you are committed and willing to work hard. Plan on two days to get a good understanding. (repetitive teaching)
For those of you who are seeking a mentor, I applaud you for trying to better yourself. I do not want to be a kill joy, but for those seeking out a mentor, be sure you understand that it takes years for trappers to consistently catch fur as it will you. It takes hardwork, determination, and dedication to improve ones skills and in my mind is the most gratifing of all outdoor activities. But it is not the same as jumping into someones deer stand, holding a gun, and just shooting a deer. By traveling on another trappers line you will be given a jump start that many will never recieve. The men and women that have been on my line have learned how to catch fur on my line, and they have made sets that have caught fur for me. Keep your eyes and mind open and follow your mentors gameplan on your line and you will be successful. Taking shortcuts after you get home is not a good idea. See you on the line!
